Welcome to my website. While this website
serves as a tool for my business, I am also using it to keep my
clients, friends and family updated on my progress as an athlete.
I first shared the journey that lead to my career as a personal
trainer on ABF
Magazine following my first competition. At this time
I welcome you to view my ‘before pictures’ and read
“Shara’s
Success Story” to learn more about me. I also
encourage you to read my contributions to ABF Magazine: “Female
Bodybuilding” and “Post-Competition
Dieting”, along with a feature article published
in Edmonton’s Real
Estate Weekly .
Bodybuilding is the reason I am a personal trainer today. After
my own trials and tribulations with weight loss, bodybuilding lead
me to the answer to an issue I had struggled with for years: How
can I feel better about me? That answer is now clear.
By adhering to the strategies and attributes that the bodybuilding
lifestyle demands - hard work, perseverance, commitment, integrity
and honesty within oneself - I now believe I am as close as I have
ever been to solving this problem. The simple pursuits towards better
mental and physical health and wellness consequently lead me to
a passion my life had been missing.
That passion is in helping others learn to feel good about themselves
and how to transform their lifestyle so that they may forever feel
better both mentally and physically. I don’t believe in fad
diets, quick fixes or magic pills - they don’t work and or
don’t exist. I believe in teaching how to change the very
habits that have brought you to the place you don’t want to
be. That is what worked for me. There is nothing more rewarding
to me than watching a client fulfill their own goals and hearing
them tell me how GOOD they feel and how they believe they have permanently
changed their lifestyle. When someone feels good about themselves,
it infects all aspects of their lives - career, family, finance,
etc..
I hold accreditation by the National
Strength and Conditioning Association as a Certified
Personal Trainer (CPT). I will also be obtaining my National Strength
and Conditioning Association – CSCS (Certified Strength and
Conditioning Specialist), as well as certification through the American
College of Sports Medicine. While I understand that
certification is necessary to ensure a more complete education,
I will always feel that my own experiences with training, research
and trials have given me the confidence and knowledge to safely
help change others’ lives.
I am also proud to announce that as of December 2006, Scott
Abel, strength and conditioning specialist and coach,
has taken me under his wing to mentor me in his training protocols
(Innervation Training, Metabolic Enhancement Training (MET) and
Hybrid Training) and nutritional techniques. I am truly honored
to be learning under someone who holds 20+ years of knowledge in
the fitness industry, has 200+ titled athletes and whose dynamic
protocols and methods change trends in physique development. I feel
that being taught by Scott far outweighs ANY certification and accreditation
available because of his knowledge base, his passion, and his REAL
approach to training and nutrition. He is very well respected and
sought after in the fitness, health and wellness, and strength and
conditioning industries.
